The strawberry picking season at Beerenberg Farm in Hahndorf is now open. Over 20,000 people are expected to visit the farm between October and May to pick more than one million strawberries. South Australia produces about 1,700 tonnes of strawberries during the warmer months of the year with the value of farm gate sales across Australia averaging $99 million.
